Cool Coding

Extended Learning Program is an initiative that is organised by schools in the Gladstone Cluster.  On Friday the 23rd March Gladstone West hosted year 4 students from around the district to participate in ‘Cool Coding’.

During the day over 22 year 4 students participated in activities to help them better understand the way computers, and other electronic devices, function using code.  Computer programming is no longer seen as only for the super intellectual but it is suggested that all students have an understanding of the purpose and basic skills of coding to be better prepared for the future.
It was a wonderful day with all students representing their school admirably. The Extended Learning Program will be continuing to run through the year with other schools hosting their own specialist lessons for year 4 students. Thank you to Gladstone West State School for being part of this wonderful process and to the students for their persistence and behaviour throughout the day.
